From Saturday:
Things just get better - Today he helped set & clear the table, poured milk into cup, asked if i needed any help, visited with soccer buds & family and played UNO and Battleship. God is truly amazing!!! I went to the apartment on Sunday briefly to bring lunch and to bring mom some clothes. She wanted to do the drive to work from the apartment to see how it would be in the future. We ate Schlotzski's and watched the Cowboys play.
<p>We had a birthday party for a family friend, so dad left to get the other teens and get the gift before the party. We went to the party, and Barbara and John came to visit Isaac. Besides being like grandma, Barbara is also our friendly neighborhood stylist, so treated Isaac to a haircut while there.
I came in last night to be with Isaac after "school". I had been there about 10 minutes when he came off the bus. We watched some TV, played on our tablet, looked at FaceBook, and chilled with dad before starting dinner. We watched Jeopardy during dinner, subtle way to still engage him while distracted, then put our jammies on. We got lost in Angry Birds for awhile, then alternated reading our book out loud with dad. We were a great source of entertainment for the aide, because she was sad when we had to stop. (She had been actively listening to the story...lol) Isaac reads fairly well, but still slowly.
Today we did our morning routine, ate breakfast, lost our phone because we put it down to get our cereal, watched early morning cartoons, and caught the bus for school. This morning our first appointment was with our Neuro, Dr. Mac, to get checked out. I talked with him about what we noticed, what we were doing to help Isaac at the apartment, and what gaps were still aoparent. He was very receptive to what we have been doing, and was very interested in the reading. He said the staff mentioned he was vocabularily comprehensive at a 14 year old level.
We went to our first "class",PT, and I talked with the PT specialist who works with Isaac. I made sure she knew he liked to run, and play soccer, but also told her of his desire to run a 5K with dad. She said she knew about the soccer, and that he had run up and down the hallway in prior sessions.
I told him I would see him back at the apartment this afternoon, and left him to finish his day at school. I'm too distracting to stay and watch. :-(

Good to hear that he is up to running the halls in PT. I am sure that the run sessions will help him gain strength and a sense of balance. It will be great when he progresses to the point of playing soccer again. Let God set his limits, not a Dr.

Wow, really great to see he is doing this well. A 5k... I cant even get motivated to go for a run, get it Isaac. Hope the progress continues as it has been.
